The ICC T20 World Cup 2021 is the 7th edition of the World Cup in the Twenty20 Cricket of Men and takes place from 17 October to 14 November 2021. Originally, the tournament should take place as ICC T20 World Cup 2020 from 17 October to 15 November 2020 in Australia. In mid-July 2020, a shift was decided by a year due to the Covid 19 pandemic. The tournament was awarded to India, which was originally designed by the tournament 2021, and Australia for the issue 2022 provided. Due to the persistent pandemic, the tournament was awarded to the United Arab Emirates and Oman, while India remains nominal hosts.There the tournament has previously been referred to as ICC World Twenty20, this is the first issue under the new name.

In the debate for the controversial plans for a World Cup every two years, other European football associations consider an exit from FIFA.

More than a dozen associations from Europe are considering the information from the German Press Agency , the membership in the World Association as a last option. First, the news agency AP had reported after FIFA boss Gianni Infantino talked to numerous European associations about the reform for the men s international game calendar from 2024.

A possible world championship in the two-year rhythm is currently being discussed controversially, the continental associations of Europe and South America reject this categorically. Aleksander Cefer, President of the European Football Union, threatened Boykott from Europe.

Most recently, the Northern European associations of Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland and Faroe Islands in a joint statement had clarified their position against a World Cup every two years. In the worst case and as the last option could not be ruled out that the associations from protest escape from FIFA, it was said in a message from the Danish Association.

A possible outlet of member associations is regulated in Article 18 of the FIFA statutes. Accordingly, an exit at the end of a calendar year can be made, a corresponding statement must be delivered no later than six months before the end of the year. So this could not take place 2021. Teams from the respective countries could not participate in FIFA competitions afterwards, but as UEFA, however, continues to be competition of the European Continental Association.
